Phillip has been involved in church music ministry for over 30 years. He traveled around the world with a contemporary Christian band for two years (Wings of Light), served full-time as a music and youth pastor in Texas, and has served as a worship leader and choir director in a number of churches in Texas, South Dakota, Florida, and Wisconsin. He has a passion for worship and is thrilled to train and lead singers in collective worship.
While away from AAC, Phillip spends the majority of his time at his full-time gig at Lawrence University. He is the Co-Director of Choral Studies and Musical Director for mainstage musicals. He conducts Cantala, Concert Choir, Hybrid Ensemble, and teaches courses in conducting, musical theater, and music education. Phillip is also the Artistic Director/Conductor for a terrific community choir, newVoices (formerly White Heron Chorale). He is a published author with GIA publications. Hobbies include travel, biking, photography, copper enameling, and stained glass.
