Tim Marcy, MA, LPC, grew up in Neenah, WI. When Tim was seven, his father died unexpectedly, an experience which has helped him relate with others experiencing deep loss and challenging transitions. Tim grew up in an authentic and loving Christian home where he was involved in AWANA, Christian summer camp, and church youth group. Every summer he heard missionary pilots share their adventures at the EAA mission aviation tent, which fed his interest in missionary work and sharing the gospel. Through this time, God became more and more real to him, present in every challenge.
Tim attended UW Oshkosh where he majored in Sociology. He loved his involvement with InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and sharing his faith on campus. After college, Tim spent four months in Brazil with missionaries, where God taught him many vivid lessons of his faithfulness. Tim met his wife, Elizabeth, a couple of years after college, and shortly after, were married and moved to Dallas so Tim could pursue his Masters in Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary. Tim and his wife Elizabeth have two children and in his free time, Tim enjoys stargazing, fishing, and playing games with his kids.
Tim specializes in working with people facing relationship challenges, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, and addiction. Tim has worked as a residential counselor with adults and adolescents with substance abuse and mental health issues combined and has counseled individuals and couples. Tim also has led various groups, family, and multi-family therapy sessions. Tim utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and teaches practical safe coping skills to assist in navigating challenges in the moment.
Tim is honored to meet with people facing all sorts of obstacles: depression, anxiety, fears, grief and loss, feeling stuck in life, trapped in addictions, navigating challenging relationships.
